From 2024 two top Auckland dance studios: Auckland West Dance Academy (established 1976) & Rhythm ‘n’ Steps (established 1995) have merged to create an amazing super dance school.  

AWDA Rhythm ‘n’ Steps is a Glen Eden dance school providing high quality dance tuition by qualified teachers. Dance classes are taught in a warm and friendly environment. Students have the opportunity to perform onstage in the annual dance concert and enter into examinations, assessments or medal tests.  

Dance styles taught are Jazz, Ballet, Hip Hop, Lyrical/Contemporary, Tap, PBT, Salsa as well as competition dancing and private lessons are available.

We offer classes for pre-schoolers, girls, boys, teenagers and adults. Class numbers are restricted to ensure that each student can get the individual attention that they require.  The youngest children begin by experiencing classes that celebrate the joy of creative movement. Later classes build on this love of dance while introducing more advanced techniques in carefully sequenced stages.

All teachers are fully qualified and are members of RAD, APDA, JDNZ, NZAMD and BAL. 

There are 2 dance studios; there is dancewear available to purchase and a waiting area with tea/coffee facilities for parents.

All the studios are fully equipped with wooden floors, full length mirrors, air conditioning, fans and barres.
