Top of Page- Each December the Academy puts on an end of year show at Avondale College Performing Arts Centre where the students get the opportunity to perform on stage with lighting, costumes and make-up. It is a fantastic opportunity for students to perform in front of their family and friends. The show is always of a very high quality and professional. Participation is not a requirement but is highly recommended. For most of the students it is the highlight of the year and they enjoy the experience of performing in the show. The pre-school students have their own concert mid year.
- Each student participating in the show is required to attend their classes, all dress rehearsals and required show performances.
- Photographs are taken and a professional DVD of the show is made available to purchase.
- Costumes are an additional cost and made to fit the student and are kept by the dancer. Costume deposits are required when measured for the show and are non-refundable.
- Performance tickets are an additional cost.
- Trophies and scholarships are given out at prize giving after the show performances.
All students with the exception of pre-schoolers and adults are required to have the Academy regulation uniform which is available to be purchased from the dancewear shop in the office. Long hair is to worn in a bun, short hair is to be kept neatly off the face. No watches or loose jewellery is to be worn to class. The uniform required for each dance form is outlined in the dance style page on this website.
Top of PageEvery second week it is "students only week", the week it falls on will vary depending on which teacher the student learns from. This helps with the concentration levels of the students and reduces pressure of the car parks. When viewing a class in Studio 1 and 3 you can sit in the room, for Studio 2 please stay in the waiting area and view through the window. Please keep additional children under supervision and as quiet as possible during the lessons. If they are too noisy please take them out of the class so that the students will not be distracted. Do not let your children play unattended or on the stairs.
